Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!; Skiers Hit the Slopes With Alaska Airlines Vacations

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 18, 2002--There's snow in the more than 20 ski areas available through Alaska Airlines Vacations, and ski enthusiasts old and young, advanced and beginners can now make quick and easy getaway plans.

Alaska Airlines Ski Vacations include lift tickets, hotel accommodations, transfers between the airport and hotel when applicable, calling cards and airfare to Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air ski destinations throughout the western United States and Canada.

For the first time, Ski Vacations are available to Colorado destinations such as Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone.

Popular destinations in Canada include Banff, Lake Louise and Sunshine in Alberta and British Columbia's Whistler/Blackcomb, Big White Resort and Silver Star Mountain. "With today's exchange rate, the U.S. dollar goes a long ways in Canada, making our neighbor to the north an economical and exciting ski destination," said Bradley Walker, Alaska's director of leisure marketing.

Other destinations include Montana's Big Mountain and Big Sky; Alyeska near Anchorage; Sun Valley, Idaho; and a selection of eight slopes in the Lake Tahoe area of California and Nevada.

Alaska Airlines Vacations are available at www.alaskaair.com or by calling 800/468-2248.

The nation's ninth largest carrier, Alaska celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. Readers of Travel+Leisure magazine recently ranked Alaska Airlines the best among the major carriers. Alaska and Horizon serve 83 cities in the Lower 48, Alaska, Canada and Mexico. For more news and information, visit the Alaska Airlines Newsroom on the Internet at http://newsroom.alaskaair.com.
