It's Win-Win-Win With Alaska Airlines' Special Fares, Double Miles and 10 Percent Web Discount

SEATTLE, Aug 20, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Alaska Airlines is giving customers three ways to win this fall: a fare sale between dozens of cities, double Mileage Plan Miles, and an additional 10 percent discount on reservations booked and ticketed at alaskaair.com.

    --  WIN with Fall Fare Sale: The special low fares are for travel
        between Sept. 3 and Feb. 14, but they must be ticketed by
        Sept. 3.
    --  WIN with Double Mileage Plan Miles: Travel between Sept. 3 and
        Oct. 31 and receive two Mileage Plan Miles for every mile
        flown. Registration required, go to alaskaair.com.
    --  WIN with additional 10 percent discount at alaskaair.com: Book
        and purchase tickets at alaskaair.com by Sept. 3 and travel
        between Sept. 3 and Oct. 31 and receive an additional 10
        percent off any published fare.

Some itineraries may include service on Horizon Air. Fares to and from Boston and Washington, D.C. are valid for travel Monday through Thursday; fares to Mexico are valid for travel southbound Sunday through Wednesday and northbound Tuesday through Friday; fares to/from the state of Alaska are valid all days; all other fares are valid from noon Monday through noon Thursday and from 2 p.m. through 11:59 p.m. Saturday.

A seven-day advance purchase is required. Fares to and from Denver, Boston, Washington, D.C. and the state of Alaska require a Friday or Saturday-night stay. All other fares require a two-night stay. Maximum stay is 30 days. Blackout dates apply. Tickets can be changed for a $50 fee, plus any applicable difference in fare. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights and days.

Sample fares do not include passenger facility charges of up to $18, the federal segment tax of up to $3 per takeoff and landing or September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement (up to $10). For Mexico, international departure taxes of approximately $28, U.S. transportation tax of $26 and Mexico visitors tax of approximately $20 also apply. For Canada, Canadian airport improvement fees, which vary by airport, and U.S. immigration fee of $6 also apply. Fares quoted here and at alaskaair.com are in U.S. currency.

Double miles are valid on Alaska and Horizon operated flights, numbered 1 through 999 and 2000 through 2999, flown between Sept. 3 and Oct. 31 and credited to the passenger's Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account. Registration is required and must be done prior to the first qualifying flight in order to receive double miles. To register go to alaskaair.com or call the toll-free promotion registration line at 866/604-3275 (use registration code 101605). Double miles are not valid on free or award travel and apply to actual miles flown and do not count toward elite-level qualification. All terms and conditions of the Mileage Plan Program apply. The 10 percent online discount applies only to new purchases made at alaskaair.com and horizonair.com, for Alaska and Horizon operated flights numbered 1 through 999 and 2000 through 2999. The online discount applies to fare level prior to taxes, fees, and surcharges.

The 10 percent discount applies to reservations entirely booked and purchased online at www.alaskaair.com or www.horizonair.com only. Discount applies to published fares only and cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions including Web Special ("W") fares, Internet Only ("IO") fares, coupons, senior discounts, Alaska Airlines Vacations Packages and all unpublished fares. The online discount is subject to change without notice.
