Horizon Air's Express Line Guarantee: Five Minutes or Less to Security Screening

SEATTLE, Jun 20, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Use Horizon Air's Express Line before flying the Horizon Shuttle between Seattle and Portland, and you're guaranteed to get to security screening in 5 minutes or less -- or you'll qualify for 1,000 Mileage Plan bonus miles.

"We know time is very precious for our Seattle-Portland passengers, so we've put in place processes to have them spend as little time in the airport as possible. We're so confident of the results that we're backing up our actions with this guarantee of 5 minutes or less," said Patrick Zachwieja, Horizon's vice president of marketing and planning.

Since its inception 15 years ago, the Horizon Shuttle has grown to become the most popular way to fly between Seattle and Portland. The Horizon Shuttle operates throughout the business day, with flights southbound 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and northbound 5 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. On-board service includes tasty snacks, Starbucks coffee, and Northwest wines and microbrews.

The Express Line for Horizon Shuttle passengers is only one of the many ways Horizon helps passengers speed through the airport. With an electronic ticket, all customers can check in and print their boarding passes from their home or office PC or use one of Horizon's convenient Instant Travel Machines at the airport. Horizon's popular Ala Cart planeside baggage service easily accommodates carryon luggage, sparing customers a trip to baggage claim.

Horizon Air and its sister carrier, Alaska Airlines, serve more than 80 cities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Horizon and Alaska are subsidiaries of Alaska Air Group. For more information, visit Horizon Air's Newsroom at http://newsroom.horizonair.com.

Terms and Conditions: Horizon Air's Express Line Guarantee is effective June 24, 2002, and applies to passengers ticketed on Horizon Air between Seattle and Portland (either way) who use Horizon's special Express Line outside of the security screening checkpoints at Seattle and Portland airports. Horizon guarantees the customer's time waiting in the Express Line to be screened will be 5 minutes or less -- if otherwise, the customer qualifies for 1,000 Mileage Plan bonus miles. The 5 minutes or less guarantee does not include the time for customers and their carry-on luggage to pass through detection devices; that time averages less than a minute for most people and is in the control of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Bonus miles require membership in Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. Applications available at all airport locations or online at www.horizonair.com. Offer expires December 31, 2002, and is subject to change without notice.
