Horizon Air Adds Third Portland-Denver Nonstop

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2002--Horizon Air announced today it will increase nonstop jet service between Portland and Denver from two to three flights each way starting July 28.

"Response to our new Denver service has been outstanding," said Patrick Zachwieja, Horizon's vice president of marketing and planning. "We're delighted to add even more nonstop service to Denver from our Portland hub."

Horizon and its sister company, Alaska Airlines, began serving Denver April 28. Currently, Horizon offers two Portland-Denver nonstops and one Boise-Denver nonstop. Alaska offers three Seattle-Denver nonstops.

Horizon's Denver service provides convenient same-airline connections from Eugene, Eureka/Arcata, Klamath Falls, Medford, North Bend/Coos Bay, Pasco, Pendleton, Redding, and Redmond/Bend--other cities served by Horizon with flights to Portland.

All Horizon flights to Denver are operated with Horizon's new 70-seat CRJ-700 regional jets. Horizon is the first airline in North America to operate the CRJ-700, one of the world's quietest commercially operated jet aircraft. The CRJ-700 has far less noise and fuel emissions than the limits enforced by even the most environmentally sensitive airports. The CRJ-700's cabin features two seats on either side of the aisle (no middle seats) and roomy overhead storage bins.

Horizon Air serves 43 cities throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, California, Colorado, Arizona, and Alberta and British Columbia. Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines are subsidiaries of Alaska Air Group, Inc.
