SEATTLE, Aug 1, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Alaska Airlines (NYSE:ALK) is extending its fly now, fly free later "Double Down to Vegas" offer to August 31.

To qualify for the free flight, participants must (in the following order):

    --  1. Register their Mileage Plan account number at
        www.alaskaair.com. (Not a member of the Alaska Airlines
        Mileage Plan? Enroll online at www.alaskaair.com and receive
        500 bonus miles.)
    --  2. Purchase tickets and travel between Seattle and Las Vegas
        by August 31. (With eight daily roundtrip flights, Alaska
        offers the most choices of any airline for travel between
        Seattle and Las Vegas.)
    --  3. Credit the flight miles from the completed trip to their
        Mileage Plan account.

After the miles are credited, participants will receive a certificate valid for a free coach class award ticket from Seattle to either Las Vegas or Reno for travel between September 3, 2002, and February 13, 2003. (Sorry, connecting travel is not included.)

Only one free coach class award certificate per participant. Participants are responsible for applicable taxes and fees incurred with award travel. Free award travel not valid in conjunction with any other promotion or award.

Blackout dates apply. Free coach class award certificate not valid for travel between November 22 through December 2, 2002, and December 20, 2002, through January 5, 2003. Space is limited and may not be available on all flights or days, especially on weekends and other peak travel days.

The free coach class award certificate will be mailed within 10 days after the qualifying travel between Seattle and Las Vegas is completed and miles are credited to the participant's Mileage Plan account. Please note, however, that delivery times may vary. All terms and conditions of the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan apply, and the promotion is subject to change without notice.
