Alaska, Horizon Introduce Policy to Reassure Customers in Event of Military Action or Elevated Security Alert

SEATTLE, Mar 11, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air today introduced a new policy to give customers greater control over their travel plans in the event of military action or an elevated security alert.

The policy enables Alaska and Horizon customers to postpone travel without incurring standard change fees in the event of military action or a Level Red Alert issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Under the new policy, customers who purchased tickets prior to such an event can change a travel itinerary without paying a $50 change fee if an event should occur.

The new policy applies to all flights operated by Alaska and Horizon. Tickets must be changed prior to the originally scheduled departure date, and travel on the new ticket must be completed no later than September 1, 2003. The full value of an unused ticket may be used toward the purchase of a new ticket, which is subject to availability and applicable changes in fares.

For more information about this new policy, visit Alaska or Horizon online at www.alaskaair.com or www.horizonair.com.

Together, Alaska and Horizon serve more than 80 cities in the Lower 48, Alaska, Canada and Mexico.
