Alaska and Horizon Track Flights in Real Time Online

SEATTLE, Feb 22, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Alaska Airlines (NYSE:ALK) and Horizon Air now provide real-time flight information and tracking with the addition of Alaska Tracker to their award winning Web site.

The Alaska Tracker map displays the progress of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air flights along their path, as well as flight number, aircraft type, flight liftoff time, estimated touchdown time, current aircraft speed and cruising altitude. The information is available on departed flights by going to www.alaskaair.com or horizonair.com, entering the flight number and clicking on "status."

Information is provided via RLM Software's radar-based flight tracking system, FlightView(R), which tracks flights in and around U.S. airspace.

"This new feature offers up-to-the-minute flight tracking from takeoff to landing and provides the most accurate flight information possible," said Steve Jarvis, Alaska's staff vice president of e-commerce.

Alaska Airlines and its sister carrier Horizon Air made history in 1995 when they became the first North American carriers to sell tickets online and again in 1999 when they became the first carriers in the world to allow customers to check in for flights online via the Internet. The respected Internet research firm Forrester ranked Alaska Airlines No. 1 among the nation's major airlines.
