SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2003--Alaska Airlines announced today a new partnership with Cathay Pacific Airways that allows members of each airlines' frequent flyer program to earn and redeem miles on the other carrier.

This is the first time that Mileage Plan, Alaska's frequent flyer program, has partnered with an Asia-based carrier.

Cathay Pacific, headquartered in Hong Kong, serves more than 60 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia, Europe and Africa.

Beginning Feb. 19, Mileage Plan members will earn one mile for each mile flown on Cathay Pacific plus a 25 percent bonus for Business Class and a 50 percent bonus for First Class. Later this spring, Mileage Plan members will also be able to redeem miles for travel on Cathay Pacific.
